Those who trust in the risen Savior Jesus are God’s children (2 Cor 6:18, NKJV), citizens in the Kingdom of God (Eph 2:19, NKJV), authoritative kingly priests (1 Pet 2:9, Weymouth), living stones (1 Pet 2:5, NLT), the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19, ESV), the Body of Christ (Eph 5:23, NLT), the Church, a spiritual building of His that He raised up in Himself within three days (Eph 2:20-22, NKJV)–and His Bride, who He is ravishingly in love with (Songs 4:9-10, TLB)!
Any virtuous bride mentioned in the Bible can be interpreted symbolically as the Church, and her bridegroom of course is Jesus Christ.
By Jesus’ blood, we have been made a pure and holy Bride for Him (2 Cor 11:2, MSG). Therefore, we are prepared right now to be with Him when the Marriage Feast of the Lamb finally occurs (Rev 19:7, CEV)!
Through His Word, He continually reminds us how completely pure and righteous He has made us through His Work alone (Col 1:22, NLT). He’s dressed us in the dazzling white silk of His holiness (Eph 5:26-27, MSG), and knowing this cleanses our minds from the negativity of the world.
Consequently, with pure hearts (Act 15:9, NKJV) and believing this truth, we can then also enjoy fulfilling lives that He has desired and prepared for us to walk in before time began (Eph 2:10, AMP).
Jesus has absolutely no reason to be disappointed in us. On the contrary, He is enraptured with us (Prov 5:18-19, NKJV)!
You may know what it’s like when one first falls in love – fresh love – with someone. You just can’t stop thinking delightful thoughts about them, right?
Since God’s love is ageless, that’s the same kind of fresh love Jesus has towards us too.
He can’t stop thinking marvelous thoughts about us (Ps 139:17-18, TLB)!
We are His Bride that He loves to show off to the world (Isa 62:3-5, NLT); we are His crown and joy!
Spiritually, He has dressed us in glorious robes of His righteousness and salvation (Isa 61:10, TLB). He is proud of us–His own perfect masterpiece and bride.
God always confidently trusts in us too, His virtuous bride (Prov 31:10-11, MSG), because He knows that in us is His fullness in Christ (Col 2:9, NLT). As husband and wife, we and He are indivisible–we are one with Him (1 Cor 6:17, ESV)!
What lovely unity.
When God looks at us, He sees absolutely no difference between Himself and us; we are literally just as He is right now (1 John 4:17,ESV).
We have His undivided attention, and He is ever willing to answer our petitions and prayers and even give us half the kingdom–since we are joint-heirs with Him (Est 7:2, NLT; Rom 8:17, TLB).
So be bold with your Husband (Isa 54:5, CEV), the Creator and Lord of the whole universe! He is all yours, and He is overwhelmed that you are all His too!
